Gyan R. Parida, Ph.D., MBA, Founder and President

As founder and president of SAEC, Gyan has grown the club from startup to 3,100 members completely funded by sponsorships. He has demonstrated thorough knowledge of the Internet revolution that has been changing people's lives and businesses. Gyan is the president of iZyn Digital, Inc., a think-tank and a Digital Research facility that focuses on consumer centric internet business opportunities. Gyan also publishes ZynBite a news letter that covers various strategic issues faced by high-tech corporations.

An accomplished scientist, Gyan has written and published, several articles in international peer reviewed journals and made significant contributions to many innovations, including the development of a new minimally invasive treatment for prostate cancer. He also discovered the first cyclic voltammogram that started a new front of research in understanding electrochemical behavior. Gyan has also advised and mentored many Ph.D. and MS candidates. Gyan's additional expertise includes advising Internet and e-commerce companies on business and technology strategies. He was a key member of the team that developed the $200 million trade management system at the New York Mercantile Exchange. Last year he managed a fund of over $1 million of technology stocks.

Gyan earned his MBA in strategy and MIS from the University of Iowa and his Ph.D. in Physical and Mathematical Chemistry from the University of Delhi. Gyan also completed a program in International Business from the University of Manchester, England and an Executive Management program in Internet strategy from MIT.

 

Vadim Akselrod, Technology Executive

Vadim is the president of New SoftWare, Inc., a company he started that specializes in Internet consulting. In his capacity, Vadim consults with clients on designing Web-based user interfaces and enhancing product usability.

In 1998 Vadim cofounded Rentals, Inc., secured three rounds of financing (>$20M) and from two employees to over 70, managing over half of them (engineering). During his tenure at Rentals, Inc. Vadim worked as the CTO and filed two critical patents for overall business process and SurfAlong aggregation technology.

Before cofounding Rentals, Inc., Vadim held several positions involving the designing of user interfaces at such companies as Seagate Software, Raynet Corporation, and Iolab Corporation. Vadim holds a MS degree in Computer Science from Stanford University.
