Officer Requirements
Silicon
Alley Entrepreneurs Club (SAEC) is the fastest growing and largest
of its kind organization in the country. SAEC has grown from 250
members in January 2001 to 2600+ now and still growing. Our members
are philanthropic technology/media professionals who help each other
to grow existing business and create new ones. SAEC's first Mega-Event
on May 8th was attended by more than 250 CEO's, investors and founders
of NY-Tri state area. SAEC provides everything FREE.
REQUIREMENTS: SAEC officers are highly successful professionals
who takes up these additional responsibility just for one thing:
to help others accomplish what they have already done for themselves
and they do it FREE. We need people who; believe in our vision,
have the highest moral and ethical standards, philanthropic by nature,
a great deal of experience in the related position, and who is willing
to work during and after his/her regular jobs to help others. The
positions are honorary and offer absolutely NO financial compensation
what so ever. The officers pay their own bills and expenses, if
incurred related to SAEC's business.
We
run the business of the club just like any competitive for profit
corporation. The officer will be obliged to fulfill his/her duty
just like they would do in any paid job. The positions are highly
demanding right now as we are growing and expanding at very fast
pace.
TENURE:
As most of our officers hold highly demanding full-time positions,
we don't expect any officer to make a long-term commitment. An officer
can be excused from his/her duties as soon as we find an alternative
person to take on the responsibility soon after the notification.
However, we would expect, that you make sure you have the time and
resource to dedicate for the position at least for a period of six
month. Because of the nature of the positions we'll accept and consider
resumes round the year, even if the position is currently filled.

WHY
WOULD YOU DO THIS: Most of our officers do it for personal satisfaction.
Our officers receive a great deal of recognition from the movers
and shakers in their respective fields. The positions are no different
than what one would encounter in a real paid job. Actually, these
are more challenging than most paid jobs. How hard it is, to do
a marketing and promotion without a budget¡¦? If you
can do this and be successful, you can pretty much do anything.

1)
Art Executive: Will be responsible for creation of all graphic
and art works for the web site and all print materials. Will work
closely with the Marketing/Branding and the Technology staffs.
2)
Content Executive: Someone with experience and educational background
in Journalism, Writing and Communication. Prior work experience
in content distribution on Internet would be a great help. Responsibility
of all content management of the SAEC web site.
3)
Event Executive: Will have responsibility for our monthly
event in New York City. The officer also interacts with our Marketing/Branding
agency, and other sponsors to secure event needs. Will be responsible
for finding location for our events, planning and executing the
details of the event.
4)
Human Resources Executive: Will be responsible for all
of club's HR needs. Preparing Job descriptions, job requirements,
interviewing and any and all HR related activities.
5)
Marketing/Branding Executive: Will be responsible for all
marketing/branding initiative of the club. Will work closely with
our Marketing/Branding agency. An MBA in Marketing and related work
experience would be helpful.
6)
International Executive: We are getting requests
from people from other countries to open new chapters of SAEC in
their region. The officer will be responsible to create standard
practice and procedures to help open new chapters on various international
locations. An MBA in International Business and related work experience
would be helpful. An understanding and respect for other culture
is a requirement to carry out the responsibility.
7)
Membership Executive: Will have responsibility to add new
individual and corporate members and convey SAEC value proposition.
Our one and only strength is our members and they are the most important
element of the organization. Will create standards and procedures
to help grow membership for new chapters around the globe.
8)
Executive of Promotion and Sponsorship: Will have responsibility
for the promotion and sponsorship of the club. Will interact directly
with our sponsors to obtain the necessary resources (products/services/$$$)
for the club's activity. Prior work experiences in sells and an
MBA would be helpful.
9)
Program Executive: Will create, evaluate and refine new and
existing programs that would be helpful to our members. Will be
responsible for overseeing the execution of the programs. A high
level of member interaction is a requirement for this position.
You must have an open mind to understand and appreciate the needs
of our members and design new programs or modify the existing one
according to the need of time.
10)
Technology Executive: Will be responsible for all aspects
of Technology creation and implementation for the clubs web site.
Technology will be one of our mission critical components to carry
out club's functions. Must be a natural leader and have passion
for technology. This position will interact with most other officers
and sponsors. MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science would be highly desirable.
Must have worked as a CIO, CTO or VP in an Internet Technology Business.
11)
Executive of Legal Affairs: Will be responsible for any and all
legal requirements of the club. Will work directly with out Legal
Counsel to fulfill clubs legal needs.
12)
Public Relation Executive: Will have responsibility for all
PR activities. The officer will coordinate the PR activities of
the club with SAEC's PR Agency of Record, communicate with the Press,
announce event organizations with different agencies and associations
and will work as the spokes-person for the organization.
13)
Event Coordinators (5): Event coordinators will work closely
with the event directors to make everything happen.
14)
Web Architect and Database Mgmt: Will be responsible for
the architectural design of the web site and database management.
Will work closely with the Technology executives and the Web Design
firm. Create and Document all technical specifications, standards
and procedures for the technical activity.
15)
Web Master/Administrator: Web sites administration and helps
the Technology Executives on site update and content publication.
16)
Writer/Editor (3): Responsible for proof reading, editing
and if possible writing contents for publication.
17)
Volunteers: We need a lot of volunteers for our events that
will take on different roles as and when required.
